The Palma Pendant is the finest piece in our Oaxacan lighting collection. Its shallow conical shade is woven so tightly from indigenous palm leaves that it glows with a soft, even warmth when lit, rather than casting the patterned light of a more open weave. The effect is quiet and considered, a pendant that brings warmth to a space without demanding attention.

The shade is woven by award-winning weaver Beln Perez Garcia, who harvests Mexican Fan Palm leaves from the hillsides near her home in Oaxaca. Young fronds are gathered and sun-dried until they reach the right pliability for weaving, then sliced into fine strips and worked into the tight, intricate pattern that gives the Palma its characteristic glow. The weaving technique has been passed down through generations of her family.

The Palma works well above a dining table, as a bedside pendant, or in any space where a considered, softly glowing artisan light is called for.
