The Sunhat pendant is one of our most popular woven lights. Its shallow conical form is classic enough to sit in almost any interior and considered enough to be the thing you notice first. Each shade is handcrafted from elephant grass by members of SWOPA, the Sirigu Women’s Organization for Pottery and Art in northern Ghana, and woven by hand into a richly textured cone that diffuses light broadly and warmly.

The Sunhat works particularly well above a dining table or kitchen island, where its shape draws the eye without overwhelming the space around it. The natural elephant grass fibers create a gentle interplay between light and shadow, casting warm patterns that shift with the time of day.

Because every shade is woven by hand, each is slightly unique. The weave, the texture, and the way the shade sits will vary subtly from piece to piece. We offer in-person and virtual appointments so you can choose yours before it goes to our lighting technician.
